LAPD Officers Say More Patrol Needed In Times Of Emergency
Officers with the LAPD tell CBS2 that in the event of an emergency, you might have a long wait. CBS2's Randy Paige reports that many officers believe there aren't enough of them to go around — especially in an emergency. “The citizens need to know they need to be able to protect themselves because if they call 911, we can't guarantee we're going to get there in time to help you,” says Police Protective League President Jamie McBride. He told Paige that Thursday morning between 5:30 and 10 a.m., there were just three patrol cars assigned to the West LA division. Two cars to protect more than 200,000 people in a 65 square mile radius.

Authorities said they discovered gambling, a home that was used for prostitution and several women and minors who were involved in the sex trade. Employers Turn to Active Shooter Training
If gunfire erupted where you work, what would you do? It's a worst-case scenario more employers are urging workers to think about in the wake of recent mass shootings. Now, an unusual training technique is being used to increase the odds of surviving the unthinkable. For the people inside a meeting room at LA's convention center, everything they thought about their personal safety is about to change, as the simulated sound of gunfire rings out. "I thought of my daughter immediately," said Demetrious Prado.

Authorities released images Friday of a utility van reported stolen to the Los Angeles Police Department because it is believed to have been stolen by one of the inmates who escaped from Orange County Central Men's Jail. The white van was reported stolen at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, and the description of the suspect matches that of Bac Duong, 43. Duong, of Santa Ana, Jonathan Tieu, 20, of Fountain Valley, and Hossein Nayeri, 37, of Newport Beach, disappeared from the jail early Friday, and Orange County law enforcement officials have been conducting a massive manhunt for the three men since then.

FBI Shows Video Of Tuesday Shooting Of Oregon Occupier
A video showing the shooting death of an occupier of an Oregon wildlife refuge appears to show the man reaching into his jacket before he fell into the snow. The FBI said the man had a loaded gun in his pocket. Authorities played the video shot by the FBI at a Thursday evening news conference, in an apparent effort to counter claims that the man killed in the confrontation Tuesday on a remote Oregon high-country road - Robert "LaVoy" Finicum - did nothing to provoke officers.

LA Land To Be Used For Veterans, Not Businesses
The federal government on Thursday released a plan to build nearly 2,000 apartments to house chronically homeless veterans in West Los Angeles to settle a lawsuit that alleged it had ignored their plight. The Department of Veterans Affairs unveiled the draft of a master plan to build 1,200 permanent and 700 short-term housing units at the site of its sprawling West Los Angeles health and medical campus. If the plan receives federal approval, construction of housing could begin this year. The VA also plans to expand special services for women veterans and those with specific issues such as brain injuries and mental health and addiction problems.

Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission To Consider Temporarily Housing 2 NFL Teams
The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission will begin considering an amended lease with USC Thursday afternoon that would temporarily allow two NFL teams to play at the historic stadium. The Coliseum, which is currently home to the USC Trojans, will temporarily house the L.A. Rams from fall 2016 to 2019 while their stadium is being built at the former Hollywood Park racetrack site in Inglewood.
