Florida K-9 Honored After Taking Bullet For Partner
A Florida K-9 was honored with a Purple Heart Wednesday after taking a bullet that was meant for his partner back in May. WSPA reports that K-9 Casper took a bullet in the hip when an armed robbery suspect opened fire on deputies who were attempting to apprehend him. The bullet missed his bones, making his recovery quicker.

Man Charged In Stabbing Of Off-Duty Chicago Officer
A South Deering man was charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with the domestic stabbing of an off-duty Chicago police officer Friday on the city's South Side, authorities said. David Johnson, 21, turned himself in to police about 8 hours after the attack, which took place in the 1600 block of East 76th Street in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.

Authorities Issue Warrant For Pennsylvania Rookie Cop Killer's Arrest
Authorities are seeking a suspect in the fatal shooting of a rookie police officer. Pennsylvania state police have issued an arrest warrant for 29-year-old Rahmael Sal Holt. He's accused of killing New Kensington Officer Brian Shaw during a traffic stop Friday night.

Mystery Murder In South LA: Killer Flees After Street Shooting
Police Sunday had a murder mystery on their hands as they tried to figure out who gunned down a man on a South Los Angeles street. The man was shot to death Saturday about 8:40 p.m. at 87th Street and Avalon Boulevard, said Lt. Ray Garvin of the Los Angeles Police Department Southeast Station.

Car Crashes Through Wendy's In Panorama City After Driver Shot
A driver was shot and then plowed through a Wendy's restaurant in Panorama City late Friday night. Police say someone opened fire from a car around 11 p.m. near Roscoe and Van Nuys boulevards, striking 19-year-old Alexis Saldana. He crashed his car through the restaurant and was transported to a hospital in grave condition.

Hail Of Gunfire In Southwest LA, 3 Wounded In Gang Shootings
Three people were wounded in a pair of apparently unrelated gang shootings just before the midnight hour in southwest Los Angeles, police said Sunday. The first incident was at 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of West 84th Street.

15-Month-Old Boyle Heights Boy Reported Missing In Amber Alert Is Safely Found In Mexico: LAPD
The 15-month-old Boyle Heights boy who was reported missing in an Amber Alert last week , when he was allegedly abducted by his father, has been safely found in Mexico, Los Angeles Police Department officials said Sunday. Noe Reyna first went missing on Nov. 14 and LAPD officials previously said they believed the toddler was with his father, 35-year-old Carlos “Ivan” Reyna, in Mexico.

Pacoima Man, 22, Is Killed In LAPD Officer-Involved Shooting In Van Nuys
Authorities Friday identified a young man who was killed in an officer-involved shooting at the end of a car chase in Van Nuys. Oscar Anaya, 22, of Pacoima died at a hospital following the shooting, which was reported just after 4 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Sherman Way and Kester Avenue. No officers were hurt.

LAPD Hosts Checkpoint In Boyle Heights After 2 Crashes There Leave 3 Young Children Dead
The Los Angeles Police Department held a safety checkpoint aimed at preventing speeding and driving under the influence Friday night in Boyle Heights after two deadly crashes just about a week apart left three young children dead, including an 11-year-old girl last week and 7-year-old and 9-year-old brothers T hursday night. Three people were arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Los Angeles police are investigating almost two dozen cases of alleged criminal sexual misconduct connected to multiple people within the entertainment industry, a senior department official told NBC News. The cases involve individuals who are known publicly as well as others who have not yet been identified, the official said Friday.

Rash Of Vehicle Burglaries Reported In Van Nuys
Over a dozen vehicle burglaries and thefts from motor vehicles occurred Thursday in Van Nuys, police said Friday. The crimes occurred during the nighttime hours throughout Van Nuys, but most happened in the 13700 block to 14900 blocks of Ventura Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Seeking Justice For A Woman Killed By Gang Violence
Far too often, families are the ones most affected by a gunman's action. "When I see her, all I see is my baby," Razonya Collier said. "I see nothing but happy times. I see my baby, I see my baby growing up, I see her playing, I see her smiling." Collier's "baby" was 20 years old on Nov. 18, 2015, when she was walking with an older man near 97th and Avalon in South Los Angeles.

LAX Unveils Automated Screening Lanes At International Terminal
Authorities at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday planned to unveil five Automated Screening Lanes designed to speed up the security process in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. Under the $12.3-million project, 14 of the 16 screening lanes at the terminal will be replaced with new technology th at allows up to five passengers to fill trays with personal belongings at the same time and proceed to the body scanner, allowing more passengers to be screened each hour, said Charles Pannunzio of Los Angeles World Airports.
