Man Accused In Palm Springs Police Killings Faces Trial On Murder Charges
A 27-year-old ex-con charged with the ambush killings of two Palm Springs police officers at his home last year was ordered Friday to stand trial on charges that could land him on death row. John Hernandez Felix, 27, is accused of fatally shooting veteran training Officer Jose Gilbert Vega, 63, and rookie Officer Lesley Zerebny, 27, on Oct. 8, 2016, after the officers responded to a family disturbance call.

2 Washington Officers Shot, Suspect Killed
Two Bremerton police officers are in the hospital with gunshot wounds after a 53-year-old man fired numerous shots at them early Sunday morning. The man opened fire on the officers as they approached him while he was seated in an SUV because he was believed to have violated a domestic-violence protective order.

Missouri Officer Shot By Handcuffed Suspect Is Still Fighting For Life
Arnold Police Officer Ryan O'Connor continues to fight for his life in a St. Louis hospital. The Arnold Police Department posted on its Facebook page Thursday that O'Connor remains in critical condition. "We know each and every person that follows this page wants to be kept current on Officer O'Connor, but all we are able to report is that his status is still listed as critical.

5 Injured, Including Young Girl, After Drive-By Shooting In Pacoima; 2 In Critical Condition: LAPD
Police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting in Pacoima Friday night that left five people injured, including a young girl, according to LAPD. The shooting was reported about 7:50 p.m. in the 13000 block of Jouett Street, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Irma Mota told KTLA. A group of people were in the front yard of a home when a vehicle drove up and at least one person inside opened fire, according to police officials.

Man Shot Near Kester Avenue And Victory Boulevard In Van Nuys
A 26-year-old man was shot while walking home today in a residential area of Van Nuys and was listed in stable condition at an area hospital. The shooting occurred about 4:20 a.m. in the area of Victory Boulevard and Kester Avenue, said Officer Sal Ramirez of the LAPD's Media Relations Section. The location of the shooting is just south of Van Nuys High School.

Serial Sexual Assault Suspect Linked To At Least 12 Los Angeles-Area Attacks Since 2014
A manhunt is underway for a dangerous serial sexual assault suspect who has attacked at least 12 victims - with the youngest being just 15 years old - since 2014. Investigators discovered the serial nature of the attacks this May through a case being investigated by Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Division, LAPD Capt. William Hayes said during a Friday press conference.

A multi-county funeral procession was held Sunday for San Diego firefighter Cory Iverson, who died battling the Thomas fire. The Ventura County Medical Examiner said Iverson died of burns and smoke inhalation. The 32-year-old died Thursday as a strike team faced down flames near Fillmore.

After 10 Days, Skirball Fire In Sepulveda Pass 100% Contained
The Skirball Fire was fully contained as of Friday after burning for 10 days in the Sepulveda Pass, destroying six homes. The fire was declared 100 percent contained about 6 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. “Firefighters will continue to monitor the area to ensure safety,” the LAFD's Erik Scott said.
