LA Community Policing is a not-for-profit charitable organization, recognized by the State of California as a 501(c)(3) corporation. We've been granted permission of the Charitable Service Section of the Los Angeles Police Commission to solicit donations, and have been awarded a Federal Tax ID number.

Please support our grassroots effort to empower all Angelenos to participate in making their neighborhood streets safer ...

We cooperate fully with LAPD, the LA County Sheriff, the local police union, the Mayor, the City Council and many others, but this effort is not supported either financially or in any other way by any of them.

We receive no funding.

In fact, we are NOT funded by any other source and have thus far relied on out-of-pocket funds and your direct donations.

It is our desire that we remain grassroots and free from even the suggestion of impropriety, as we continuously appeal for the community to contribute letters, articles, calendar items, etc.

This is YOUR grassroots community group, and LACP.org is YOUR website.

Why contribute?

Every major metropolitan area in the world should have a website like this, one which is dedicated to providing information about community policing, public safety, law enforcement, government, and criminal justice, just to name a few topics. We serve all Angelenos ... officers and residents alike ... including community leaders, government officials, students, teachers, businesspeople, travelers, writers, researchers of all types, and many others.

Amazingly, as far as we know, there is only one major metropolitan area in the world that has such a devoted and comprehensive grassroots website, available on the internet.

That metropolitan area is Los Angeles and the website is LACP.org, the online forum for Los Angeles Community Policing.

Although the LACP.org website is free to all on the world wide web, it is costly to research, build, maintain, and deliver. As the popularity of this site climbs (now about 30,000 readers a month), it has become increasingly expensive to maintain. It is even more expensive to expand it and add new material. Our costs include supporting research, writing, promotion, getting access to material, software and hardware to maintain and expand the site, and increasing the server space needed to host web pages and deliver them.

In addition, LACP members regularly attend meetings, events, and functions across the region, educating themselves, working with others and carrying the message of the need to participate in community policing.

We ask that you help by making tax deductible donations towards this this valuable community service. We know that nowhere else can you find as much information in one place about community policing opportunities and topics in Los Angeles County, or any single major metropolitan area, for that matter. We want this site to continue and grow ... but we can't do it without your help.

There are many ways that you can help your community to become a safer place to live. Monetary donations, of course. But we also need donation of goods or services for use in fundraising opportunities.

You can volunteer to become part of LACP, as a Board Member, a Committee Chair or committee member. Or contribute your skills as a writer.

Please help us with any monitary amount, even if only a few dollars. Every donation is helpful !!!
