Police Academy for Community Members
free 10 week course offered - Thursday nights
Begins on Thursday, July 12th. This is a FREE 10 week course!

Community Police Academy
Los Angeles Police Department
The Operations-Central Bureau Community Police Academy provides
community members with an inside look at the Police Department and
various facets of law enforcement.
During the 10 week academy, students
will be introduced to police operations and participate in firearms
safety demonstrations, take tours of our Air Support and Communications
facilities and will have a hands on tour of our training simulators.
Other topics will include:
Community Policing
Criminal Law
Internal Affairs
Patrol Procedures
Vice Enforcement
Crime Prevention
Detective Investigations
Drug Enforcement
Crime Scene
Traffic Enforcement |
All classes are taught by experienced police officers and staff. There is NO physical activity involved.
You must meet the following criteria:
Be at least 18 years old.
No prior felony convictions.
No outstanding warrants.
No pending criminal cases. |
The next Civilian Academy is scheduled to start July 12th 2007. It is
held Thursday evenings from 6 PM until 9PM. The location is the LAPD
Academy located at 1880 North Academy Drive and parking is available for
free. This is right next to Dodger Stadium.
There is NO CHARGE to
attend.
