President Obama made hundreds of promises as a candidate. Since taking office a year ago, he has completed some, made progress on some, and has made no progress on others. The Post has evaluated key parts of the president's campaign agenda to see how it has fared. On the day of the State of the Union, what follows is a selection of significant promises Obama made to voters in 2008.

EDITOR'S NOTE: On the eve of his first State of the Union speech, the Washington Post has tracked 25 key promises made by Barak Obama when he was a candidate for President in 2008. Now that he's been in office for a year, President Obama's performance can begin to be measured. The Post ended up marking the Administration as having three issues on the "To Do" list, another 15 on the "In Progress" list and seven as being "Completed."
