March 24, 2011 - Anchorage man sentenced for falsely claiming US citizenship
Alvaro Jimenez-Aguilar pleaded guilty to stealing the identity of his deceased nephew. He was sentenced Wednesday for falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen and filing a false Social Security application. This case was investigated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

March 23, 2011 - ICE deports international fugitive wanted for murder in Brazil
Joao de Oliveira, a Brazilian national wanted for the 1991 murder of Absolon Ferreira de Souza, was arrested by ICE HSI agents in March 2009. Since then, he has been held at the Krome Detention Center in Florida. ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers deported him Tuesday.

March 23, 2011 - 139 convicted criminal aliens and fugitives arrested in ICE enforcement surge
ICE conducted a three-day enforcement operation in Northern Virginia that concluded Tuesday. ICE ERO officers made 163 total arrests. One-hundred-thirty of those individuals were criminal aliens with prior convictions for a variety of crimes, including rape, assault, burglary and narcotics possession.

March 22, 2011 - Wisconsin man charged with sexually exploiting a girl in Belize
A grand jury returned a one-count indictment against Roland J. Flath of Lamartine, Wis., Tuesday. He allegedly traveled to Belize and sexually molested a local girl. If convicted, Flath faces a maximum penalty of up to 30 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

March 22, 2011 - Missouri woman sentenced to 12 months for employing illegal aliens
An ICE HSI investigation uncovered that Hua Huang, a Missouri resident, was transporting, harboring and hiring illegal aliens to work at the Chinese restaurant she managed. There, they worked 12-hour shifts, six days a week, and were paid in cash amounts far less than minimum wage. She was sentenced Tuesday to a year in prison.
