Dear Neighborhood Council:

The City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) operates the second largest transit fleet in Los Angeles County and is making advertising space on the interior of its buses available at a nominal charge to Neighborhood Councils such as yours to promote events and activities under a program called “LADOT's Community Calendar.”

With this letter, I am inviting your organization to participate in the Community Calendar program.  LADOT will provide advertising space on the interiors of its bus fleet free to Neighborhood Councils on a first come, first served basis. Each Neighborhood Council will be allowed free space for five cards per event. Your Neighborhood Council will need to produce the advertising cards and pay a posting fee of $2.00 per card.

Interior transit advertising cards are produced in two sizes: 11 inches by 22 inches and 11 inches by 28 inches. The cards can be produced on either 110 lb card stock or on styrene. LADOT encourages the use of papers made from recycled materials.

If your Neighborhood Council is interested in participating in the program, please reserve your space by logging on to the LADOT website at www.ladot.lacity.org. Go to the space labeled Community Calendar and fill in the required information.  You will need to specify which of space by logging on to the LADOT website at www.ladot.lacity.org  Go to the space web page labeled Community Calendar and fill in the required information. You will need to specify which of LADOT's bus routes you want your material to be displayed on and the dates the material should be displayed. Please reserve space at least 30 days in advance of your event or activity. The printed materials must be sent to LADOT's Transit Advertising Contractor, Titan Worldwide, at least two weeks prior to the scheduled posting date along with a check or money order to cover a $2 posting fee for each card to be posted.  Should you wish to post more than five cards for your event, you will be charged for the additional space over and above the five cards.  Contact Titan Worldwide at 714-522-2262 for these rates.

Remember, space is available on a first come, first served basis; so make your space reservation today!  LADOT reserves the right to reject any advertising that it considers not to be in the public's best interests.

Sincerely,

Rita R. Robinson
General Manager
