Re: DONE's Financial Support re Neighborhood Council Elections

The Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (DONE) continues our pledge to support the Citywide System of Neighborhood Councils. Part of the continued pledge is to provide financial support to Neighborhood Council elections, in spite of the Department's budget constraints. I n that regard, the Department will cover the costs of election related expenses administered by the Department. In the event the Neighborhood Council's election is postponed or cancelled, the Neighborhood Council will be responsible for handling the expense had the original election date taken place. We are unsure of the impact the current city budget deficit will have on our future capacity to help pay for elections but we will inform you of developments in the near future.
