Bulky item pick up - a new online service
- and FREE mulch

July 15th

If you want to have Sanitation make a bulky item pick up, but don't want to sit and wait on hold for a long time, now you can fill out an online request form yourself!

Just go to: http://www.ci.la.ca.us/SAN/service_request.htm

Type in the same information you used to wait 20 minutes to tell the operator. You can do it in seconds.

Telephone hours have been extended for Bulky Item Pick Up, too.

Call 1 / 800 / 773-CITY or 1 / 800 / 773-2489 to schedule a Bulky Item Pick Up and find out what the new service hours are.

By the way, the City offers FREE MULCH now, too.

With the hot weather upon us, placing mulch around your plants and trees helps them retain water. You can get free mulch at the City of Los Angeles' S.A.F.E. Collection Center and Bulky Item Drop-Off site.

Besides allowing residents of Los Angeles to drop off bulky items, the site has free, organic mulch available, which is made from clean yard trimmings. Just bring your own shovel and bags (or however you would like to take the mulch home). You can take as much as you need.

The site is open 7 days a week, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
