THE SWEARING IN CEREMONY FOR



CHIEF WILLIAM J. BRATTON

Angelenos are cordially invited to attend the
Swearing In Ceremony for William J. Bratton,
who will accept the honor of being the fifty-fourth
Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department
on October 28, 2002.

WHERE:
Training Field Los Angeles Police Academy
1880 Academy Road
Elysian Park, CA

WHEN:
Monday, October 28, 2002
11:00 am to 12:30 pm

Parking is available at Dodger Stadium,
with shuttle service to the training field.

Those in attendance include Mayor James Hahn,
Police Commissioners Rick J. Caruso, David S. Cunningham, III,
Bert Boeckmann, Rose Ochi and Silvia Saucedo,
members of Los Angeles City Council, elected officials,
Community Police Advisory Board members,
the Chief's Forum members,
students from the Los Angeles Police Magnet Schools,
and the men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The Vocal Pro from the Performing Arts Center of
Hollywood High School, the Los Angeles Police Band,
and the LAPD Pipe Band will be performing at the event.

LOS ANGELES POLICE COMMISSION TO HOLD
COMMUNITY MEETING IN HOLLENBECK AREA

The Police Commission announced that it will be
holding a Community Meeting in the Hollenbeck Area
to hear and address local issues.

Information on the meeting is as follows:

October 29, 2002 6:30 pm

Boyle Heights

This will be the first Police Commission Meeting
for Chief William Bratton.


Members of the community are encouraged to attend and
share their suggestions, concerns, and ideas.

The Los Angeles Police Commission regularly holds its
meetings in the various communities of Los Angeles.

Due to the increase in violent crime in the
Hollenbeck Area, the Commissioners chose
this location so that they may hear and address
the concerns of the local residents.
